Learn To Run In Just 12 Weeks

So, you’re here because you want to learn to run, yet you probably don’t know that you were already born with the equipment and skill to be an efficient runner. Just look at children who run every day without injury (no knee problems, no back pain, sprains, shin splints, plantar fasciitis or stress fractures) and no one specifically trained them on technique. Sadly, over time and due to lack of use, this innate ability dwindles and we forget how to run. The good news is, through proper training the ability to run can be unlocked and here is how.

How To Begin?

When you decide you want to run, where do you go from there? A couch to 5k programme (C25K? C210K?) ? A learn to run app? It might be useful to know that 80% of all runners are injured at least once a year, highlighting the importance of not just learning to run but learning to run without injury. Of course, we love that ‘just do it’ mentality but how about ‘just do it properly’? When you learn an effective running technique there are no boundaries – 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, trail run – build your distance, build your endurance, all without injury.

What Is Involved?

Over a 12-week programme our running instructors will teach an efficient running technique, known as pose method, that goes beyond the distance. You will also learn to run in accordance with the laws of nature and how the body is designed to move. On week 1, you will have your own running technique thoroughly analysed by an instructor and also recorded on video. From this stage, you will begin training week by week on flexibility and technique which will be later analysed again on week 4 and week 11 (allowing you to see how far you have progressed). By week 12 you will be able to run 30 mins without stopping.

The Schedule and Location

The first session will take 2 hours since it will provide a vital introduction to running, after that every twice weekly session will last 45 mins – 60 mins. Between training sessions, you will be given ‘homework’ which will serve to hone your running technique.

Max number of participants is 15.
